Since its origins in the Roman villa, the idea and function of a villa have evolved considerably. After the fall of the Roman Republic, villas became small farming compounds, which were increasingly fortified in Late Antiquity, sometimes transferred to the Church for reuse as a monastery. Then they gradually re-evolved through the Middle Ages, into elegant upper-class country homes. A palm is an unbranched evergreen tree of tropical and warm regions, with a crown of very long feathered or fan-shaped leaves, and typically having old leaf scars forming a regular pattern on the trunk. A leaf of a palm tree is usually awarded as a prize or viewed as a symbol of victory. Our aim is to supply affordable, homely accommodation to our guests in need of a tranquil and healthy environment, serving our guest to their needs in an efficient and professional manner, ensuring a memorable experience whether travelling for business or pleasure. There are 11 en suite bedrooms offering all amenities, including a delicious traditional breakfast, & a small conference facility. The rooms on the premises can cater for single or sharing type accommodation for up to 25 pax. Each room has air-conditioning, a tea/coffee station and is fully serviced. Some bathrooms are equipped with baths and others with showers. Villa Palmeira has a beautiful large dining room area that leads out onto a wooden deck and the pool area. There is also an outside lapa area with braai facilities and an outside bar area. A conferencing service has been added to the accommodation service at Villa Palmeira.The centre is ideal for small conferences, meetings, workshops and group supervision. It is very convenient, as we also provide luxury clean accommodation on the premises for those who come from far.
